Bradley James Briscoe died Monday March 30th at his residence.

Born June 20, 1963, the son of Mary Jane Wessel Briscoe and Alton E. Briscoe, Brad was a lifetime resident of the Laurens area. He graduated from Laurens Central School in 1981. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1981 to 1984. Upon leaving military service, he returned home and graduated from Broome County Community College in 1987 with a degree in Criminal Justice. Brad worked for several years at Sanyo Corp. in Oneonta, but most recently Brad worked at Mold-A-Matic Corp. where he had been employed since 1995.

Brad was an avid outdoorsmen, he loved to golf, loved the sport of Motorcross Racing, and was an active member of the Laurens American Legion.

Brad's greatest joys were life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed a good book, a good movie, a good game, a good laugh, and most of all a cold beer with a good friend. The peace and solitude he so cherished he found in his love for primitive camping. He found great reward in the founding and operating of Platt Briscoe Racing. His presence at Motorcross races will surely be missed.

Brad is survived by his sister, Dr. Leigh Ann Briscoe-Dwyer and her husband Kevin of Elmhurst NY, his aunt Dorothy VanVliet of Norwich, NY, and his very dearest friend, Neil Platt of Mt. Vision, NY. Brad also leaves behind friends too numerous to count.

Like his family, all that were lucky enough to know Brad will forever miss his gentle character, his genuine smile, his helping hand, and his joyful laugh.

A funeral mass will be offered on Monday, April 6, 2015 at 10:15 am in St. Mary's Church, 39 Walnut Street, Oneonta with the Rev. David Mickiewicz, officiating.

Interment will take place in the Elm Row Cemetery, Laurens at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Food Bank, 39 Walnut Street Oneonta NY 13820.
